Resident Assistants (RA)

The Resident Assistant (RA) staff works with students and parents in a fast-paced, high profile position. RAs present information to a variety of audiences in a variety of ways every day. The staff members have a high energy level, enthusiasm, stamina, and an apparent love for MSU. Team members are available on an on-call basis for the duration of the summer in addition to the regular schedule. No classes (including online classes) or other jobs may be taken during the summer. The RA staff is required to attend a weekly training program spring semester that requires extensive memorization and a variety of written assignments equivalent to a 4 credit class.

Office Staff

The student Office Staff works on the front line with everyday orientation coordination. Staff work with students and parents and maintain current office records. The staff members have a high energy level, enthusiasm, stamina, and an apparent love for MSU. Team members are available from early morning to late evening for the duration of the summer. No classes (including online classes) or other jobs may be taken during the summer. The Office Staff is required to attend a weekly training program during spring semester that requires some memorization and a variety of written assignments.

Student Assistants: Application Available Mid-March

The Student Assistant position gives undergraduate students who are taking summer classes a chance to be a part of the AOP team. The staff has a variety of job responsibilities including: student and parent check-in, student check-out, assisting students with computer enrollment, test proctoring, assisting with student walking tours, supervising student evening activities (including sports, help room, or karaoke) and other duties. We require that students who want to take summer classes DO NOT enroll for classes scheduled between 8:00am and 12:00 pm. This is the time when AOP schedules most of its employees. Other hours are available from 1:00pm – 11:00pm. Students must be available for work during both Summer Session I and Summer Session II. The Student Assistant staff is required to attend multiple training sessions in May and June.
